220 Central Jakarta Satpol PP Personnel Deployed to Assist Securing Christmas Service in Churches

Central Jakarta Satpol PP deployed around 220 personnel to ensure the security during Christmas 2020 celebration.

We will help secure the churches that holding Christmas service

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Bernard Tambunan mentioned, 220 personnel will be deployed to 45 of total 117 churches that will hold Christmas service on Thursday (12/24) night until Friday (12/25) to assist police and TNI officers in securing the place.

"We will help secure the churches that holding Christmas service," he stated, Friday (12/18).

Starting Today, MRT Jakarta Operational Hours Ended at 8 PM

He also encouraged churches administrators to implement strict health protocols during the service.

"We remind churches administrators for not installing additional tents outside the church, not allowing children, pregnant women, and elderly to go to the church, ensure worshipers to maintain safe distance, wash hands, and wear mask," he explained.

Central Jakarta Government Assistant, Deny Ramdani also asked urban village and sub-district heads to coordinate with church leaders and administrators to attempt the Christmas service to be held online.

"But for those who have reported us about holding face-to-face worship, we remind them to comply with health protocols," he added.

Face-to-face worship for Christmas celebration can be held based on Circular Letter (SE) No. 23/2020 issued by Religion Ministry. However, they still have to implement strict health protocols and limit the worshipers.
